The Global Health Institute includes faculty and staff members within three categories: staff, teaching faculty, and affiliated faculty. Staff are core paid faculty and staff within GHI who perform administrative and organizational duties within the Institute. Teaching Faculty are faculty members who serve as course directors or course instructors for undergraduate, graduate, or education abroad courses in the Global Health Studies programs. Affiliated Faculty are paid and adjunct faculty members who maintain an ongoing relationship with the Institute related to the research, instructional, or outreach missions of the Institute.
The Global Health Institute invites any MSU community members, including adjunct members across our local and global communities, to become affiliated faculty with the Institute. Affiliated members are expected to engage annually with the Institute. A few examples of engagement opportunities include: participating in an annual web-based meeting of affiliated faculty, attending GHI events or webinars, serving on a governance committee, or providing a lecture to students within the Global Health Studies programs. You must have an MSU email address and MSU appointment (paid or adjunct status).
Benefits to becoming an affiliated faculty member include inclusion in the Global Health Institute directory, networking opportunities and thematic engagement with other affiliated faculty, information on funding opportunities, research dissemination opportunities, and teaching opportunities.
